Albigensian Wight (allium sativum - softneck).
Large white, deep flat garlic bulb to harvest in late June.
Can be planted as late as January as well as in autumn.
Origin in Southwest France. The garlic of the 13th century, heretical Cathars, known to Da Vinci Code and Holy Grail followers. Plant a little heresy in your garden.
Unusual in keeping longer than other Mediterranean softnecks, keeping until February.
